// About

Ugandan GirlNew Life Skills International supports, develops, and funds programs that improve and expand access to health care services and educational services for disadvantaged populations in rural areas throughout Uganda, Africa working in one village at a time.

The organization’s focus is to bring about change by providing education to the whole community addressing some of the most pervasive problems in Uganda including, but not limited to, HIV/AIDS, malaria, hunger, access to clean water, family planning & orphans needs, and sanitation diseases prevention.

An astounding 90% of malaria deaths in the world occur in Africa.  Sadly, most of those killed are under the age of five.
New Life Skills empowers women to turn the tide in Africa.  Every woman involved in New Life Skills’ Bead Program is given the opportunity to learn skills that can help re-shape their future, and that of their children.

The program:

  • Empowers women to learn a skills while allowing each individual to express her own unique creativity.
  • Engages the participants, allowing them to take part in the process of their own liberation, and become self-sufficient.
  • Creates an environment of community education and development.
  • Nurtures self-esteem and builds confidence as each woman masters the skill of bead-making.
  • Enables participants to purchase food for their children, and gives them the means by which to pay school fees so that their children can receive an education.
  • Sustains health, as it gives some HIV-positive women the ability to purchase the antiviral medication they desperately need.
  • Provides women the tools they need to break the chains that have bound them to a life of poverty.

New Life Skills International is a 501(c)(3) (tax-exempt) organization.  Donations and proceeds to New Life Skills go directly back to the villages of Uganda, and all donations are 100% tax deductible.
